Fall Well Spent

This fall was busy, busy, busy! Students had a lot to do, but not all of it was work! Check out some of the more fun things that we did!

International Children's Festival

Parent Led Lesson

Visits with other Classes

And Finally, just some general fun!

Let's hope we have as much fun in the next term!

Where We Are in Place and Time

Where We Are in Place and Time

This unit is a favorite every year! Students always love learning about space and time, and they always feel very, very smart after. Which is good, because they are! Here is what we explored...

Central Idea: Exploring outer space has deepened our understanding of our experiences on Earth
Connection: Connection between the celestial bodies and Earth
Change: How light has affected our understanding of time
Function: How we use light coming from space (starlight, moonlight and sunlight)

Jumping In

To start, students began by learning about 3 things: Time and Space. they did many projects to learn about the topics, and presented their information in a variety of ways: essays, presentations, reflections, and more!

Figuring Out

Once we had figured out the basis of what we needed to know, we became scientist once again and replicated experiments, did research, and explored ideas to help us understand how space and time related to the last part of our unit, light!

Summative Assessment

Finally, we were already for our final part of any unit, our summative assessment! For this summative we chose a topic we had learned a little about and explored it more, becoming such experts that we could create our own books about it!

Happy New Year and see you next year!
