Wax museum!

Hey everyone! The students did an amazing job with their wax museum project and they opened up our classroom to other grades so they could come have a look. We had a wide age range of students from pre-school and up come check out our sculptures. The students worked well with the younger children explaining their sculptures and answering their "who" questions.

In math we started looking at the relationship between decimals, fractions and percentages which is tricky but I think we are getting it. In English this week we created lots of stories using spelling words. As an intro to our new unit of inquiry we did an experimental art project with the pre kinder class using colored ice and the energy from the sun! It was great to see them working so well together and the results were pretty interesting.

Next week on Friday we will have a field trip to Kansai Cycle Sports Center. Permission form and other info will be sent on Monday.

Grade 2 came to check out our exhibit. They were our first group of customers at the wax museum. After they left we had some ideas about how to make our set up even better.

Rikito and Jamal both made basketball players and combined forces to make a basket ball court as well.

Suhani and her Krishna sculpture.

Grade 5 came to visit as well and we revised our setup so everyone's exhibit could be seen better. They had some really good questions.

Grade 2 came to visit as well. By this time we had perfected our museum. We even got to use the laptops to show the slideshows they made in ICT.

Mr. Ben and Pre-k came to visit as well. They had some great questions.

This was mixing water colour into the ice cube tray for our art project.

The students were working on a brainstorm for a new mascot for the school.

Jignesh got really experimental and added some dirt. It turned out really cool!

Have a great weekend!
