Japanese Culture Festival

 Japanese Culture festival

It might seem like all we do is have festivals these days, but that's only because Corona Virus prevented us from doing it before! So, two weeks ago we had our international festival, and this week we had our Japanese Festival!

To start our day off we had a mini Matsuri in the Gym, where we played many festival games!

We tried to catch bouncing balls with paper spoons! (Don't worry, we won't take them all home).

We tried to pick up as many beans as we could with chopsticks!

We tried to win points by dropping yen into a jar in water!

Maybe not a traditional Japanese activity, but still very fun, we made autumn themed headbands and did 10 pin bowling!

In the afternoon we got to listen to a traditional Japanese instrument, the Taishogoto! The women who came and played for us were very talented, and we enjoyed it a lot! Especially when we got the chance to try ourselves!

Finally, near the end of the day, we got our prizes from the festival - Taketonbo! We played with them in the class for a while, but stopped when we realized we would probably break something...

Overall it was a great day!
